Benefits

Optimizes switch and edge router testing
  • Addresses the need for mid to low-end control plane validation  to support the testing requirements of switches and edge routers.
New architecture over mature software foundation
  • Offers optimal data and control plane resources, reducing test configuration time with a new architecture.
Cost-effective
  • Provides a cost-effective switch and edge router testing solution by reusing existing software and automation for seamless integration.
Highly scalable
  • Offers seamless combinations of test ports in the same time domain and 12 ports in a one rack (1U) footprint.

Switch and edge router testing in a 12-port 100GE platform

The 12-port Keysight switch and edge router tester 100GE (SERT 100GE) expands to support 100 / 50 / 40 / 25 / 10GE speeds to test multi-rate application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) designs, field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs), and hardware fabrics by using electrical interface with non-return-to-zero (NRZ) encoding at full line rate.

The SERT 100GE supports hundreds of protocol templates and industry-standard Request for Comments (RFC) benchmark tests in large test beds to validate and assess network infrastructure performance and scaling.

With L1-3 testing capabilities, SERT 100GE tests multivendor optics interoperability, device packet forwarding or routing capacity, load balancing, and failover performance. The appliance encodes traffic with various headers, encapsulations, and tunneling types to validate device security or deployed policies.

Combining SERT 100GE hardware and Keysight IxNetwork software solutions can help you deploy numerous traffic streams and detailed per-flow statistics for in-depth visibility to debug both data and control planes.
