Vision Edge E400P has multiple uses, including top-of-the-rack aggregation with the following features:

Hardware specifications

Vision E400P supports the following features on every port at full line rates:

• Performs header stripping and protocol termination on 20 different protocols, enabling any combination of these protocols.
• Provides packet deduplication that supports up to line rate on every port.
• Reduces packet size on egress ports with packet trimming.
• Executes data masking by applying protocol header masking for source / destination MAC or IP.
• Uses time stamping with source MAC or INT.
• Supports tunnel origination up to 255 VxLAN / L2GRE tunnels per system.

Deploy both inline, out-of-band, or both simultaneously based on your security and monitoring needs.

Inline

Robust inline tool deployment enables users to deploy intrusion prevention systems (IPS), data loss prevention (DLP), and similar tools while assuring high service availability, even when system sections fail or become overloaded. Data from the network passes through the Vision E400P network packet broker via a bypass switch for resilience. The Vision E400P sends the data to the IPS, DLP, and other tools. These tools process the data and transmit safe information to the network via the Vision E400P and bypass switch.

Out-of-band

Process and monitor packet data with various tools without affecting the network with an out-of-band (OOB) deployment. The data passively copies from the network with our taps and automatically transfers to the Vision E400P solution and other network packet brokers for filtering and processing. Relevant data is dispatched to tools at appropriate speeds so the tools can operate efficiently. Your team can improve the relevance of alerts, ensuring a quicker response to incidents by dispatching the correct data, thus minimizing false positives.

The Vision E400P has a space-efficient 1RU design. To get the most out of the rack space used and to optimize data speeds for tools, Keysight offers a fan-out capability. For example, a 400G port can be used with a break-out to operate as 4 X 100G ports which is ideal for tools that may have only a 100G capacity. Combined with the load-balancing capability, you can ensure your tools are not overloaded and are operating at the optimal capacity.
