Highlights
Separate signal from noise
Perform digital debugging using a portable oscilloscope with a custom application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) that delivers four times more vertical resolution and half the injected noise of other general-purpose oscilloscopes. Troubleshoot your design and ensure product quality by debugging with an oscilloscope that can see the small signals beyond the noise to catch the slightest and most infrequent signal glitches.
- Increase vertical resolution by four times with a 14-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC).
- See smaller signals with a 50 µVRMS noise floor.
- Find signal glitches with an uncompromised 1.3 M waveform / second update rate.
- Capture longer time spans at full sample rate with 100 Mpts of deep memory.
- Display up to four independent signals and control the scaling individually.
- Isolate signals in seconds with zone triggering — simply draw a box on the screen.
- Characterize signals, hunt for errors, and save automatically with Keysight Fault Hunter.
- Perform advanced analysis with fast Fourier transforms, histograms, and Bode plots.

Debug designs with 4x the resolution, 1/2 the noise floor
Ensure product quality by debugging with an oscilloscope that can see the small signals beyond the noise.
14-bit ADC delivering four times the resolution
A key component in achieving high vertical accuracy is the ADC. A higher number of ADC bits means more vertical resolution, translating to more accurate signal representation. For example, an oscilloscope with a 12-bit ADC can encode an analog input into 4,096 unique levels of conversion (212 = 4,096). Each additional bit doubles the number of levels of conversion. Oscilloscopes with a 14-bit ADC can encode the analog input into 16,384 levels (214 = 16,384), which is four times the resolution of oscilloscopes with a 12-bit ADC and 64 times the resolution of an 8-bit ADC.Capture smaller signals with a 50 µVRMS noise floor
All electronic devices, including oscilloscopes, generate some level of noise. However, the goal is to minimize the noise as much as possible. A lower noise floor means that the oscilloscope has less impact on the signal, resulting in more accurate measurements.
The Keysight InfiniiVision HD3 sets a new benchmark in noise floor performance with a 50 µVRMS noise floor at full 1 GHz bandwidth. You can further reduce the noise with bandwidth limiting and waveform averaging options on the HD3.
Advanced analysis
Automate complex measurements with advanced software capabilities:
- Convert time-domain signals into frequency-domain signals using a fast Fourier transform (FFT).
- Compare signals to pre-defined templates for quick pass / fail analysis with mask testing.
- Analyze the statistical distribution of jitter and noise with waveform and measurement histograms.
- Perform frequency response analysis with Bode plots.
- Isolate signals in seconds with zone touch triggering — simply draw a box with your finger on the screen.
- Characterize signals, hunt for errors, and save them automatically with Fault Hunter.
- Convert time-domain signals into frequency-domain signals using a fast Fourier transform (FFT).
7-in-1 instrument
More than an oscilloscope, the HD3 helps you save valuable bench space, providing more capabilities in the same footprint by enabling additional instrument integration:- Oscilloscope with two or four analog channels
- Mixed-signal oscilloscope to add 16 digital channels
- Protocol analyzer
- Frequency response analyzer
- 100-MHz arbitrary waveform generator
- Three-digit digital voltmeter
- Eight-digit counter with totalizer
