Why freeze 86100D software support now?

The 86100D has been discontinued since December 2019, maintaining software support becomes increasingly complex with time, and FlexDCA A.07.80 includes a significant .NET update. In order to continue to provide the best possible measurement experiences for all customers, Keysight has determined that FlexDCA A.07.80 is a prudent time to remove 86100D software support.

Are Keysight repair and calibration support for 86100D impacted?

No. Repair and calibration services for the 86100D will continue to be available until at least March 2025, the planned end of support date for 86100D. Beyond March 2025, Keysight will continue to provide 86100D support services to the best of our ability.

What will happen if I install FlexDCA A.07.80 on an 86100D?

The installation will fail. A.07.80 will not install on an 86100D.

Will previous versions of FlexDCA continue to work with my 86100D?

Yes. All versions released prior to A.07.80 will support 86100D.

What is the last version of FlexDCA that my 86100D will support?

For Win7 or Win10, A.07.61 is the last version supported.

For WinXP, A.04.54 is the last version supported.

Note: There are no A.07.7x releases. FlexDCA version numbers jump from A.07.61 to A.07.80.

Will FlexDCA A.07.80 be supported on my Win10 86100D?

No. Beginning with A.07.80, 86100Ds are not supported, regardless of operating system.

Can I still upgrade my 86100D to Win10?

Yes, however, FlexDCA A.07.61 is the last supported software version.

What if I have support remaining on an 86100D license? Will Keysight re-host this license?

Has support for any other DCA instruments changed?

No. No changes to support of any other DCA instruments are planned.

Are plug-in modules and DCA-M instruments introduced with or after the A.07.80 release supported with my 86100D?

No. These DCA instruments require FlexDCA A.07.80 or later and therefore will not be recognized by an 86100D frame.

Will Flex-on-Flex connections from my PC to an 86100D continue to work?

No. With FlexDCA A.07.80 or later installed on a PC, Flex-on-Flex connections to 86100Ds are not supported. An earlier version of FlexDCA must be installed on the PC to use a Flex-on-Flex connection to an 86100D.

What if a software bug is discovered in a previous version of FlexDCA?

Any defect fixes deemed critical by Keysight will be implemented in a special A.07.6x release. Non-critical defects in earlier software releases will not be addressed.
