INSTALLATION/MIGRATION INSTRUCTIONS ============================================================ INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Note: You should install and configure the I/O libraries on your system before proceeding with the installation. See Minimum System Requirements - Additional Software above for more details. - Close all applications - Launch the N7800A Setup.exe from Windows Explorer. - Follow the instructions on the screen to install For details on installation options see the TME Help, Getting Started section ============================================================ 3. UNINSTALL ============================================================ Note: All TME applications E.01.00 and later must be uninstalled before TME can be removed from the PC. Please refer to the applications' Readme.txt for details on how to uninstall those applications. For TME applications that have not been upgraded to E.01.00 or later, the TME uninstall will remove those applications when the TME uninstall is performed. - Click on the Windows Control Panel and select "Program and Features" option. - Select "Keysight N7800A Test Management Environment" and click on "Uninstall" or right click on the mouse and select “Uninstall.” Note: Uninstalling TME or any TME application will delete any data stored by TME or its applications. Please make sure that you save all needed data before uninstalling this software. It is recommended that all existing test reports are saved as a hard copy or in the portable document format (pdf) format. ============================================================ 4. GETTING STARTED ============================================================ - As of the N7800A E.03.00 release, you must upgrade all N78xxA calibration applications installed to their latest version. On startup, TME will notify the User of any applications that are not up to date, and will only enable opening Orders and creating new Orders for applications that are up to date. - There are two help systems that relate to running applications in the TME environment. The first one is TME Help which provides general information on installing and operating the test software in TME. The other one is the individual application Help systems. They provide information specific to testing that individual product. - To view the TME Help when running the test software, select "Help" from the top menu bar then "Test Management Environment". The TME Help Getting Started section will help with installation options as well as details of how to configure TME to begin testing. - To view the Application Help when running the test software, select "Help" from the top menu bar, "Applications", then select the application help you wish to view. The Application Help Getting Started will give installation and configuration instructions that are unique to that application. Also included are the details and test equipment needed to run each of the performance tests and/or adjustments. ============================================================ 5. RUNNING THE SOFTWARE ============================================================ - Launch the Keysight N7800A Test Management Environment (TME) from the Start menu -> Programs -> Keysight N7800A Test Management Environment (OR) - Launch the Keysight N7800A Test Management Environment from the Keysight Test Management Environment shortcut on the Desktop. - Follow the instructions from the "Getting Started" section of the TME Help to setup test stations. - For specific instructions on how to run individual applications, see that application's Help system for details. ============================================================ 6. USAGE NOTES ============================================================ * LICENSING - TME Applications require the use of a license to run procedures and view reports within TME. Please contact Keysight to purchase licenses. Also see the TME Help system for details on how to install and manage licenses within TME. * INTERNATIONAL USE - The primary target for the TME software is "English (United States)". The "French (France)" and "Japanese" locales are tested to some extent. Other locales are not tested but should work as well. - For a network-based TME installation, the same locale should be used for all the PC's in the network. ============================================================ 7. KNOWN ISSUES ============================================================ * INSTALLATION ISSUES - Kernel error found during installation of Keysight IO Libraries during TME installation when NI VISA is earlier than version 3.2. See the Minimum System Requirements section above for details on using NI VISA with TME. * UNSUPPORTED APPLICATIONS - As of version E.03.xx the Dragonfly (E645xx) and the 34970A applications are no longer supported. This are only supported on E.02.11 or older version. ============================================================ 8.
