Command Expert 2024
This version continues support for features described in the previous versions but with the following changes.
New Features and improvements:
- Addition of Command Expert 64-bit version
- Command Expert is now available in both 32-bit and 64-bit versions. You will find 2 shortcuts (Keysight Command Expert and Keysight Command Expert (64-bit) ) to launch the application.
- For IVI drivers providing 32-bit and 64-bit support, either version of Command Expert can be used.
- For IVI drivers that only support 64-bit, the 64-bit version of Command Expert must be used.
- Adds support for the following Add-ins/ Add-ons:
- MATLAB 2023b and 2024a
- LabView 2023 and 2024
- Python 3.12
Enhancements:
- Updated Errors or Warnings in Generated MATLAB Code
- MATLAB R2021a introduces the visadev API as the replacement for the visa API when establishing connections to VISA devices. Using the visa API with newer versions of MATLAB may result in errors.
- To ensure compatibility, when exporting sequences to run in different MATLAB versions, Command Expert's latest update addresses this change by generating code suitable for both scenarios: one for MATLAB versions from R2016a to R2021a, and another for versions from R2021a onwards.
Defect Fixes:
- Updated scpiSource.ini file to use the HTTPS URL when an older version exists.
Installing Command Expert 2023 over an existing version did not update the scpiSource.ini file, causing users to continue using outdated URLs.
