3070 License Check Tool for Pre-05.30p Systems

The 3070 License Check tool helps the user determine the functionality of their 05.30 version software license files prior to the installation of the 05.30p version of 3070 software. The tool provides the user with information about their license files in a familiar "codeword -l" format output.

The MS Windows version of the tool is intended to be installed on systems utilizing 3070 software prior to revision 05.30p. The MS Windows version of the tool can be installed on systems with 3070 Test System Software or 3070 Development Software.

The HP-UX version of the tool is intended to be installed on systems utilizing 3070 software prior to revision 05.30p.

For MS Windows systems, the tool must be installed by the "administrator" login (or a login with administrator privileges). For HP-UX systems, the tool must be installed by the "root" login.

To download on MS Windows systems:

1. Click on "3070 License Check WN Download". Save this file to disk. The size of this file is approximately 0.5MB.
2. Close all open programs.
3. Go to the folder in which the file was saved and double-click on "licenseCheckSelfExtract.exe".
4. Three files are included in the Self-Extracting file. They are:
   
   - licenseCheckWin.exe
   - lmgr9a.dll
   - README.txt
   
   Follow the instructions in the Self-Extractor window to unzip the files to the folder you have specified.
5. To run the tool, open a Korn Shell window (On the menu bar, click Start then click Programs then click Keysight3070 then click Korn Shell). In the Korn Shell window, "cd" to the folder where the files were extracted and type "licenseCheckWin.exe".
6. Refer to the README.txt file for additional information.

To download on HP-UX systems:

1. Click on "3070 License Check UX Download". Approximately 1.3MB of available space will be necessary to perform the decompression and the final decompressed size of the file will be 0.6MB.
2. In the "Save As" dialog box, change the "Selection" to reflect the location to where you want to download the software package and click OK.
3. Open a shell window and "cd" to the directory where the software package was downloaded.
4. In the shell window, enter: "tar -xvf LicenseCheck.tar". Two files are extracted from the software package. They are:
   
   - LicenseCheckUX
   - README.txt
5. In a shell window, enter: "rm LicenseCheck.tar".
6. To run the tool, in the shell window type "./LicenseCheckUX".
   
   Note: On Pre-04.00p systems, the environment variable AGILENT3070_ROOT may need to be set, e.g. export AGILENT3070_ROOT=/var/hp3070
