Keysight Advisor Reporter - Update Activation Keys
Advisor Reporter updates require that you obtain and enter an Update Activation Key before you will be allowed to create your first report. Update Activation Keys are 20-digit alpha-numeric codes that include the following information:
- Minimum Reporter License Revision- When you install Advisor Reporter from the original distribution media, a License.key file is created in the folder that contains the Advisor Reporter program. The revision contained in this original License.key file is compared to the embedded Minimum Reporter License Revision in the Update Activation Key. The Update Activation Key will only work if your original License.key file is from a revision equal to or greater then the Minimum Reporter License Revision embedded in the Update Activation Key.
- Date Code Limit- Beginning with Advisor Reporter 11.51, each revision of Advisor Reporter is internally stamped with a Date Code. This date is always the date of first customer shipment of the corresponding revision of the Keysight Advisor. This internal Date Code is compared to the embedded Date Code Limit in the Update Activation Key. The Update Activation Key will only work if the internal Date Code of an Advisor Reporter revision is equal to or less then the Date Code Limit embedded in the Update Activation Key.
- Activation Key Duration-While not used during the validation process, this embedded information is displayed when you enter an Update Activation Key. Update Activation Keys purchased through the Software Update Service (SUS) are valid for 12-months from their date of issue. For example, a key purchased via SUS on January 01, 2001 will show an Activation Key Duration of 12 months, which means that it will unlock all Advisor Reporter revisions with internal Date Codes up to January 01, 2002.
