Verifying eCall / ERA-GLONASS module conformance with emulation
Performing eCall/ERA-GLONASS conformance test requires simulation of four system elements: the in-vehicle system (IVS) module, global network satellite system (GNSS), cellular network, and public service answering point (PSAP). Each component is essential and must be tested for functionality in both Pan European and ERA-GLONASS platforms to ensure overall system performance.
The test environment setup consists of a wireless test set and RF signal generator to emulate the cellular network and provide GNSS coordinates. The system also requires PSAP emulation software. The software controls the instruments and the execution of tasks to verify that the IVS model can trigger an emergency call, send raw MSD data, and establish a voice connection with the PSAP. Additionally, test engineers can use a performance audio analyzer to test the audio quality of the voice connection between the IVN and the PSAP.

The setup verifies if the in-vehicle system or modem is able to trigger an emergency call, send the correct raw MSD, and establish a voice connection with the PSAP, testing both Pan European and ERA-GLONASS platforms.
