Non-Terrestrial Networks

The 3GPP standard mandates GNSS in the user terminal and decoding of the satellite ephemeris information for link pre-distortion analysis and counter-adjustment.

This demo will generate signals simulating a virtual satellite flyover, with arbitrary orbital parameters and real-life radio link conditions. In addition, it will develop NTN test scenarios like dense urban CDL-B, defined with 4-path multipath with Rayleigh fading profiles and create 5G NTN test scenarios, including orbit modeling as described in 3GPP TR38.811. Payload signals are generated using a compact IQ signal source, waveforms defined in Channel Studio, and physical channel conditions applied through PROPSIM, with analysis and demodulation performed using Vector Signal Analysis software.

Wideband MIMO Prototyping

Multiple-input / multiple-output (MIMO) and ultra-wide bandwidth will be key enablers for 6G to achieve data throughputs of multi-100 Gbps. This will be possible using multiple streams of data with more than 30 GHz of bandwidth at sub-THz frequencies. Keysight solutions provide flexibility and scalability in prototyping various types of waveforms operating in different frequency bands.

Sub-THz Device Analysis

Sub-THz communications are already under advanced development, and researchers are building out the components necessary to enable the 6G and other ecosystems. Testing these components under realistic wideband modulated signals is critical to predicting system-level performance. This demo will show how the Keysight Vector Component Analyzer (VCA) solution enables engineers to achieve less than 1% residual error vector magnitude (EVM) of the test system with up to 40 GHz of modulation bandwidth, achieved with G-band VCA setup with M8199 AWG.

AI / ML-enabled EDA

ADS 2025 offers 3D Circuit-EM-Thermal multi-physics co-design, high-performance automation that enables AI / ML and robust design validation for RF and millimeter-wave and provides support for wideband power amplifier design techniques, including nonlinear load pull. This demo will show how PathWave System Design 2024 U1 links to ADS through the new RF System Explorer. It also provides new communications PHY technology for 5G NTN systems design while enabling training and use of AI/ML-based models and channels for RF-true phased array design for 5G and 6G systems.

Precision RF Field Test

This demo features an analog signal generator with pulse up to 54 GHz enabling users to perform 5G / 6G field channel sounding, EMF and EMI test from 9 kHz to 54 GHz, and millimeter-wave spectrum analysis up to 220 GHz with VDI mixers

Keysight Spectrum Management Software (KSMS) is a comprehensive software tool kit that modernizes how frequency regulators and public and private network operators manage their frequency resources, detect, locate, and mitigate interference issues, and provide full-stack spectrum optimization from RF to over-the-air analog and digital demodulation. KSMS works with Keysight FieldFox RF and MW analyzers with operating frequencies from DC up to 54 GHz.

Signal Source Characterization

The new Keysight E5058A 54 GHz SSA-X signal source analyzer has best-in-class phase noise measurement sensitivity and offers various measurement capabilities, including absolute and residual noise (both phase noise and AM noise) measurements, transient measurement, spectrum analysis, network analysis, and voltage-controlled oscillators (VCO) characterization. It also enables comprehensive signal source and component characterization.

This demo shows how to perform sub-THz phase noise measurements with the SSA-X and an E5051AW phase noise measurement downconverter for 6G applications, as well as microwave amplifier residual phase noise and AM noise measurements.

Radar Algorithm Validation

The Keysight Radar Scene Emulator solution combines hundreds of miniature radar target simulators into a scalable screen that can emulate objects up to 512 pixels in resolution and at distances as close as 1.5 meters.

This breakthrough radar scene emulation solution overcomes conventional radar sensor test solutions, which have a limited field-of-view (FOV) and cannot simulate objects at distances less than four meters.

Phased Array Antenna Test

Keysight’s phased array control and calibration test solution delivers a convenient and flexible measurement system that can perform a wide variety of phased array antenna performance verification tests. These tests include fast gain and phase calibration, effective isotropic radiated power (EIRP), antenna radiation pattern, antenna gain-to-noise-temperature (G/T), modulation distortion, error vector magnitude (EVM), adjacent channel power ratio, and radio frequency to direct digital measurements. The solution features a comprehensive and user-friendly software interface that integrates and synchronizes digital control of Keysight’s high-performance test instruments (PNA-X vector network analyzer and VXG vector signal generator), the antenna under test (AUT) beamforming integrated circuits, and Keysight’s compact antenna test range (CATR) positioner and temperature control unit.

Wideband Active Load-Pull

This demo shows our newly introduced wideband active load-pull (WALP) capability using a dual-channel VXG-C vector source and a PNA-X network analyzer. We demonstrate the error vector magnitude performance of a power amplifier when presented with arbitrary frequency-dependent load impedances created without an impedance tuner. Such tests are invaluable for the design of power amplifiers used for phased-array antenna systems, where load match changes as a function of beam angle.
